old electric motor question
Does anyone know if you can have an old motor rewound? Does changing the brushes help with battery life, and performance? I can't seem to find any motors to replace mine if I neeed it. Thanks in advance.

They build the 2 speed motor or a single speed. Cost about $300. Good company to deal with and fast service. (for shipping a motor) They reworked an old Melex motor I had. There was nothing available excpet the stocker at $600. |

Re: old electric motor question
Most will charge U an extra $50 core charge and send U a motor, then when U swap out the old , send it back and get the core charge refunded.
Keeps U from having any down time. And most motor re-winders promise a increase in speed and torque with their rewound product . $300 is a good number . |

Re: old electric motor question
Thanks guys, I figure I am doin all of this work on this thing that there is no use if she don't go, you know what I mean? She runs good, I just wanna make sure she will last as long as the rest of her. New motor, and some new batteries, and she'll be brand new. who says an 81 is old? I love this forum!!
