Re: would like to start a battery comparison
Just a quick note on battery cables..... they usually last one set of batteries lifetime. At that time they have typically developed internal corrosion. Cut the end off of an old cable and see the green stuff inside for yourself ..... so new batteries? It's time for new cables

Re: would like to start a battery comparison
If your car has been maintained by a good shop your battery cables will last years. I have 1975 cushman golf cars with the original cables on them and still going strong. Purchasing good cables is also a good way to go, the cables with basicly a ring terminal pounded flat and then a hole drilled into it is not a good cable. Also alot of china stuff has hit our shores, and China 4 guage is equal to US 6 guage, so make sure you are getting what you are paying for.

Re: would like to start a battery comparison
I have seen some old cables look okay but it is always on a cart with the battery posts and cables just covered in dialectic grease These nasty gooey substances defy corrosion but, it is seldom used. And dreadful to work with. Most of the time I see 4 - 5 yr old cables puffed up like it was one size bigger than they are with internal corrosion.... and yes the too big #2 cables are subject to this same internal resistance building up.....
