We only ride in the neighborhood (which is early in development so not many homes) and there are several very straight, long stretches. The main concern was would the faster motor reduce the torque to the point of causing some problem/damage because of the strain or somehow slow me down more than I am now. 20+ with 4 people and almost 30 by myself would be excellent.
You won’t lose any noticeable torque, (I’ve had my motor now for well over a year,) and it does just find. Before and after install I did speed comparisons on takeoff and also have had to pull my cart up steep inclines while loading on my trailer. I didn’t lose any speed, as a matter of fact I gained a bit and am OK with hills and inclines. One thing to remember, especially with a shunt motor is that if you get to a point where you’re not moving, such as going up a hill and it’s stalling out, you need to back off the pedal right away since shunt motors can burn out quickly if you don’t back off. With a stock controller at 225-250 amps you’ll have less of an impact with this but if you ever decide to change your controller out for a 400a Alltrax, well you can get the picture. Also a stripped down cart that has the bare minimum weight is going to get the fastest speed such as dtkana and a loaded up cart will have the lesser speeds, both with the exact same motor. There will be a noticeable difference with 1, 2 3 or 4 person(s) on the cart as far as speed as well as wind resistance, windshield up or down, etc. etc. Getting an upgraded motor should serve your needs well!
