Speed question- 1996 CC DS electric 48v
I was just wandering how fast a stock '96 48v CC should go. Also, how much torque should it have? I am not sure if I'm achieving full speed and torque. Thanks!

Re: Speed question- 1996 CC DS electric 48v
My 1996 48 volt Club Car would go 16 MPH when in stock condition and new Trojan batterys. So much depends on overall condition. Batterys must be in good-charged condition. Cables and controller and speed control wear and age are also a factor. Then there are the tire size and air pressure, stock or lifted cart, top and windshield etc. Lets face the fact that a "GOLF CART" is made for golf and not for highway usage and is under government control as far as factory design and speed is conserned.
If unsure of condition you should first check batterys for condition ( Hydrometer not cheap antifreeze multi ball tester ) Clean and check condition of ALL CABLES and if needed replace with 2-4 guage. These items will effect speed as well as torque. Then like many others go from there with large sums of money. |
