Default 12 volt gel cels vs 6 volt acid

Is there a reason you cant use 3 12v gel cells to get 36v instead of using 6 -6volt Batts is this possible if so how would you wire it ?

36 volts is 36 volts, but you won't be happy with the range, and using those 3 gel batteries in this manner will wear them out prematurely.

I'm not an EE, but have heard that the gel cels require a different charger than the wet cell batteries and they were not really a good alternative for carts.

I would like to see some discussion from more knowledgeable battery type folks.

I'd like to see any of the major battery manufactures recommend any of their GEL Cell batteries for Golf Carts. I'm sure you can google Trojan battery, US Battery, Exide, etc. and see what they show available in their GEL Cell for them. It they don't have any then I think that result would answer the question.

Star and Zone are using wet cells... Zone is even using 8 6volt wet's as well, not GEL.
