Re: Ball joint blues

Measure the width between the front sidewall of the front tire from driver to passenger side.... lock the tape measure... then measure the distance of rear sidewall from side to side... on the front tires... Next... adjust the long tie rod that runs from spindle to spindle until you get your tires toed in 1/8" of an inch... (1/8" more narrow in the front than rear) Camber... Take a framing square and butt it up against either front tire... it will either touch the top, or the bottom first... slide it up against the tire until it touches... Look at the gap between the rubber and the square where the tire is not touching and compare it to the other tire by checking it the same way... Club Car camber specs are to make each tire match each other. You can do this by loosening up on the eccentric nut on the center of the front leaf spring and twisting the eccentric bolt. It pushes the leaf spring to the left, or the right, according to which way you twist it. Make sure you loosen up on the 4 bolts that hold the leaf spring retaining plate before you begin or you'll never get the spring to move. Hope this helps. |
