Charger question

i agree, it's just so aggrevating trying to explain to a customer that the charger they just carried into my shop is only half the equation and I will need the cart to completely test the charge system of their car......

Thanks for the info, I will try that on Thursday night I'm out of town till then. I was going to try that but I didn't know if you could interchange charges with the cart do to different model carts...Thanks again I will post how I make out.

we all have opinions on the OBC but het its in them and thats that, i could understand if it did more than just keep track of how many charge cycles but again its there we either eliminate it or live with it.................as for me i don,t care for them but when working right it does its job.......................

you can always install a board on a cc charger & not use the obc. kirk

Sorry it took so long to get back with you all...I did try the charger from my 01 and used it on my 05 it did turn off at 61.5v....Then I tried my charger from my 05 on my 01 and it did not turn off after 12hr I check the volts on the pack and was reading 59.1v and the charger was reading 5amps... I disconnect the charger from the cart and checked each battery and I was getting 8.98, 8.96, 8.98, 8.96, 8.92, 8.90v...so i'm thinking its the OBC or the batteries not sure...should I try and reset the OBC may that help? I seen posts about that not sure what to do....any help would be great....

i,m not sure you can do an unlock on 2001,s but your on the right track if the charger for that cart worked on another cart that tells us the charger is ok its the cart that has a problem as you have plenty of voltage for it kick charger on..........you said its staying ar 5 amps???? explaine that? is this the cart that won,t charge with the charger that won,t work on it?????if the charger is bad your not gonna get even 5 amps its gonna stay at 0...............................................

It's staying at 5 amps because it's designed to go into "trickle charge' mode once the batteries reach a certian voltage level. That part is normal. Sounds like the charger is fine and the batteries are as well, it's just the OBC that is faulty.

The OBC is bad and needs to be replaced. I'm pretty sure you can't unlock an OBC on a 2001.

I used the charger from my 05 C/C on my 01 C/C this is the cart that the charger will not shut down with...The charger started out with 9.5amps and 12hr later it was still running and reading 5amps and the volts on the pack was reading 59.1amps.....Hope this helps
