On my IQ it is small and round maybe 1.5 inch in diameter with two small bolts holding it on. It does have three wires coming out with a triangle plug. Some IQ motors have one that snaps in.

Thanks dtkana. My old motor has the bolt on, the new high speed motor from Plum Quick is the snap in. I thought the plum Quick motors got around these sensors some how so it would not effect the speed. Its doing right on 8mph, i have read thats a default speed for these sensors if they go bad.

Cal PQ I'm sure they will help you out. I had a similar problem that turned out a bad controller. I'm sure you wanted to hear that. I replaced two controllers before my speed motor worked.

Make sure that the contacts in both the triangle plug and socket are all making contact and pushed together well. It does sound like a sensor issue but if the plug is unplugged it reacts the same... down to the default 8 mph setting. Also if the motor was dropped on the sensor or back plate side that will do it also...

UPDATE...plum quick sent me another motor today and this one works great, so the issue was the speed sensor. Thanks to all who helped in this thread. Now I am ready to have some beers and kick my neighbors a-- in a race this weekend.
