Re: commander motors
UPDATE: Just got back from installing the commander motor. Let me say, it did give me some top end speed. On a flat run I peaked out at just shy of 29mph, but I had to un-install it. I lost my torque. I have a hill at the shop that is crazy steep...steep enough you feel like you will flip. With my old motor (stock 3.3hp) and my Alltrax, I can creep up or scream up that hill. With the commander in it, I can push the front tires up it and thats it.
So conclusion, you can gain speed with the commander motor for sure....but you will lose torque even with a controller (400amp Alltrax). I put my old motor back in and am sticking with what I got...a hunting buggy that can crawl through the woods, creeks, hills, and rough terrain. (I am adding the limited slip gears though) |

Re: commander motors
Bringing this old one back, haha!
After I indicated my intentions to install a Bandit, the company that I'm getting my cart from (pick it up tomorrow PTL!) said they've installed a few Commander motors and had great success (except for the guy that didn't know how to handle the speed and put his cart in a lake on the golf course). I'm in Jacksonville, FL only a couple hours away from the Commander guys who are still going strong. Thinking about putting one in... neighborhood & golf course use only... no lift... 12" low profile tires. Anyone have any recent updates or experience with the Commander motor upgrades? |

Re: commander motors
I've never used them, but I can vouch for PlumQuick and their Bandit motors being top notch.
