Default Stereo Issues ?

Just installed a CD player w/ Amp - 4 speaker system. Sounds great when we are parked.

Once I give it some gas, the sound cuts out. If I let off, the sound returns.

The display on the deck continues to work as it should, just the sound cuts out.

I am new to gas golf carts and need your experience. Can you help?

give me a list of just what you have and how you have it wired sounds like a wire routing problem.

Drawing would not copy, sorry.

I have a JVC CD Player connected to the EZ GO Power and Ground harness.

Polk Audio Amp - Chassis grounded. Hot direct to battery. REM line to CD Player (on / off)

RCA Jacks from CD Player to Amp.

L & R Speakers wire from Amp through Cross Overs to two 5-1/2" speakers and two tweeters.

Everything sounds fine. No static at all.

Once I accelerate, the AMP power light fades and the sound dies. The deck seems fine.

I tried a Ground Loop Isolator, but it did not help.

I tried running power direct from battery to CD player. Still the same issue.

I tried grounding the CD player direct to the chassis. Still the same issue.

What else should I try?

Is there something drawing power that causes the Amp to lose power?

I am new to carts. I'm lost with what to do next.

try turning the amp on directly from the battery. you will hook up your main power and the remote wire which is usually blue directly to the battery. then try driving it and see if it still happens. if it stay on, then you are getting interfernce from somewhere along the line. if it still cuts out, let me know

Tried it this evening... same result. What gives????

Is there a power loss (voltage drop) when I accelerate?

Take all grounds and +12v directly to the battery. You can use a switch for the 12v. Do not use the chassis for ground. You WILL get a voltage sag when you start the cart. It all depends on how tolerant the equipment is.

marathon is correct. another thing to look at is a good battery. something like a deep cycle. i have a optima yellow top in mine, and im working on putting together a sub and amp combo. i know my battery will hold up to what ever i throw at it.

I had a similar problem. My JBL amp would turn off every time I hit the pedal to start the cart. It would come back on, after I got rolling. I hooked up a volt meter to the battery and found the starter was pulling the battery all the way down to 8.5 volts. This voltage was too low for the amp. I installed a new battery and it never goes below 12v when starting and the problem went away.
