Default ez go bearings

When exploring a grinding noise in the drivers side rear of my 2003 ez go, the axle literally fell into my hands. The bearing was in little pieces, some on the axle and most still in the cart. Is there an easy way to get all the old bearing parts and seal out of the axle housing? Got the "C" clip out, but not the rest. I also haven't seen on any of the threads on reassembling the bearings/seals/greasing.

Welcome to BGW.

I can't help you much on the mechanical stuff, but someone will probably be along after they gorge themselves on turkey.

For the time being, go to the bottom Sticky: at the top of the Electric EZGO forum (one level up from where you are now) and download the manuals.

Here's the link to the Service manual

That was great, I could have taken those photos. Exactly the same.
Got the bearing pressed on locally but they didn't have the seal. The cart is down in Palm Desert where one of the local shops is open on Friday and have the seal in stock.
Did you have to grease the bearings to get the axle back in or for lubrication?
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks

light coat of oil on the outer surface will help it slide into the axle Make sure the C clip is seated and re-torque the Axle nut to 100-140 pounds.

Funny this post came along when it did!!! I just acquired a 2008 TXT and it was making a horrible grinding from the rear, even noisier when making turns!! Finally got a chance to "dig" into it and found that both castle nuts securing the drums to the axles were really loose. Cleaned up a lot of brake dust, put er back together and cranked the nuts to the next slot and all is quiet again. This may be a good item to check into from time to time, as it is not that difficult to check and may be a reason for spline failures. Hope this helps someone - RAY
