95 Ez-go upgrade ideas
I am in the process of completely upgrading my cart. I am going to install a new controller, motor, solenoid and f/r switch. I am currently installing a 5" lift with new wheels and tires. I am looking to turn this into a high torque hunting vehicle that will be capable to climbing hills and keeping a steady speed on flat ground. I am definitely more interested in torque than speed but a little more speed would be nice. I got a quote through D&D motors for all of the above upgrades other than the HD F/R switch only because they don't sell them. I was thinking a one stop shop would be nice. Ideas? What have you guys done to yours to get comparable results? Any imput would be awesome. I also looked into sending my motor to plum quick. He said $225 and he would upgrade it, but I am thinking just go with something new that I know is going to give me what I need. Thanks for any imput that u guys may have!

Is it a Series cart? Regardless, give Scotty a call at Carts Unlimited, a site sponsor, tell him what kind of results you're after and he will hook you up with all the above mentioned- thats what I did and I couldn't be happier.

Quote:
Going from stock differential gears to 15:1 gears will give you less speed and more torque. Doing both will more or less offset each other. Upgrading Cables, F/R switch, solenoid and controller will give you more torque. Upgrading from 36V to 48V will give you more torque and speed. The motor needs to be capable of handling all the Amps you can throw at it without melting down from the heat or blowing up from the RPM. Have fun and be safe. |

When you upgrade wires, what is the best type to use? Welding lead?

Re: 95 Ez-go upgrade ideas
PQ can build you a motor for torque. The $225.00 price is a basic bandit motor upgrade. Not what you say you want. Robby can fix you up with a high torque motor.
You want to use the best welding cable you can afford so it carries the amps that the motor ask for though the controller. |
