Yes - stick with 12V and buy a 48 to 12V converter to power your lights.

Thought the 48 would be a simple plun-n-play with a rewire to the whole pack. Going to add a radio at some point anyway. Thanks for the help guys.

Did I miss the "why" on why your buddy recommended this? Just to use the whole pack - or want insanely bright lights for a cart, or what?

I do agree on stopping the use of a single pack battery to power anything in the form of lighting or accessories. I've been there, done that, not going back. I use a dedicated 12v battery and it'll run my lights and stereo at full strength long after the cart needs to be plugged in again. With a reducer, you are still at the mercy of the power left in the pack and contributing to the draining of that power - but it is a viable option over using a single pack battery.

May as well figure out where to mount your fire extinguisher and first aid kit while you are working on this. LOL

Yeah. My lights are, in a word, lousy...and I wanted to use the whole pack. I'll keep the 12v's as is for now and use a light bar for real light. The old lights will be used sparingly. The other member had different housing.

As for the fire extinguisher and what not...you should see my excursion. On-board air, 2 fire extinguishers, jeep jacks, canopy, axe/shovel/jerry can mount, first aid, tools, etc., etc...and 7 Hella's on the front.

Little more space in the Ex though.
