Made the decision carb or efi and bought a new cart today...
After a few weeks of debating whether to buy a new 2013 carb or a new 2014 efi my final decision came down to the price. My first trip to the dealer i was quoted a difference of about 700$ price difference between the two carts. The carb model is basic has the tinted fold windshield, chrome wheel covers, and best of all the synergy metallic green that i fell in love with at first sight. The 2014 was a amber color that was efi, has the headlights, turn signals, horn etc.
Before i got to the dealership i had my mind already pretty much set on getting the 2014. I test drove both again for a good 10 minutes each. I would go back and forth from each cart to get a feel for the clutching, acceleration, starting and stopping. These are my honest results. The carb version actually starts and goes quicker than the efi. The carb has a tad more abrupt take off dead stop. The carb to me actually felt like it had more power out of the holeshot. Riding from top speed then let off the peDal completely then back on pedal while moving the carb had very little delay. The carb did produce more exhaust fumes. The efi is simple no need in pulling the choke after the cart had been sitting for days. When you press the pedal there is a longer delay to get moving than the carb. The efi didnt seem to have the bottom end torque as the carb. The efi did have a smoother acceleration from a dead stop. While riding the efi at full speed then let off the pedal then back on the pedal the efi had a noticeable delay. The throttle isnt as instant as the carb. The efi did have less exhaust fumes. After the test drive he asked which i liked better and i chose the efi because of the newer technology and the difference in price. By his reaction he was dissapointed. He had been sitting on the 2013 for a while and wanted to move it out. So he says how about i take off another 500$ from the 2013 price and throw in a enclosure. So now the price difference is a tad over 1200$ instead of 700$. With that much savings i chose the 2013. 1200$ will get me all the accessories i want to customize it the way i want, wheels, tires, lift, stereo. Will be installing my rear seat kit this weekend and ordering some lights. Sorry for the long post but maybe my experience today will help some of you guys out with a future. Price is what steered my final decision. And also having experience with disassembling the carb for cleaning helped alittle as well. |

They will probably goiing with a 3" jakes and a 12" wheel combo. Most likely some black wheels with silver accents. Anyone know if the 3" jakes makes the front tires stick out wide like the 6" lift does??
