I just put the pl1200 on my cart today and its a tight fit. I put the belt in the primary, put the cart in between forward and reverse on the switch so the clutch spins freely, put the belt on the lip of the secondary clutch at the 12 oclock position, i take my right hand and pull the belt down and use my left hand to help push it on around if that makes sense... You have the shorter belt so dont even bother trying to install it.

If the new belt fits inside the old belt, its wrong for sure.

Hey Thanks for the info. I kind of figured I have the wrong belt. I will call Don this week and get it figured out. I have tried all ways to get it on. No go. Short of taking off the clutch. I don't think you should have to do that to get it on. Guess I will work on the carb and airbox mods until I get the belt situation figured out. Looking forward to more power.

Let me know how the 1.5" hole saw does when removing the throat from the airbox. I will be doing the airbox mod and jets soon when i ever get a day off work. Any tips or problems you have please fill me in so hopefully mine installs without a hiccup.

It's not a difficult modification, but what I noticed after doing mine was an increase in intake noise. Made the engine sound throatier, but definitely louder.

I dont think you will get a lot of power increase from the airbox and jet mod being that these engine dont make much ho to begin with, but when you bypass or adjust the governor for max speed it prevents damage to the engine when running high rpms for extended periods of time.

It's all about fuel:air flow. At high RPM's the stock carb leans out the mixture, which can cause valve burning and hot spots on the piston. The new jets are set to be richer, and the airbox mods allow more air flow to put the fuel:air back into balance. That way it doesn't starve at the higher RPM's.

I didn't notice a difference in top end, but the acceleration was smoother and seemed stronger. I also don't need to use the choke as much when the engine is cold. So overall, it was a worthwhile mod.
