Default lug stud spinning

went to remove a wheel on my g2 and one of the lug studs is just spinning. once i get the nut ground or chisled of do i have to remove the axel to replace the stud, or can it be done on the cart

I would attempt to replace the stud without pulling the axle first. You should pretty much know with the wheel off if the axle needs to come off to replace the stud. Hopefully the spinning is caused by stripped splines on the stud knurls and not the axle knurls. If the axle knurls are bad you may need to tack weld the head of the new stud to the axle to prevent rotation. Good luck - RAY

It's really easy to pull the axle if need be. Remove drum, there are 2 big holes in the flange that you can acsess the 4 12mm head bolts. Start with the holes at 1 and 7 o'clock then 5 and 11 o'clock. Remove the bolts and just tap out the axle. When I replace brake shoes on early Yamaha's, I always remove the axles and use one bolt to hold the backing plate in place. Don't worry, be happy
