G29 (THE DRIVE) whining
Sometimes when I step on the gas to go, my Yamaha whines and doesn't go, I have to hold it down for about five seconds to get it to go. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it?

Re: G29 (THE DRIVE) whining
Yep, tighten the starter generator belt, but, not too tight (causes excess wear on the bearings).

Re: G29 (THE DRIVE) whining
Yup. Definitely sounds like a loose belt. Let us know

Re: G29 (THE DRIVE) whining
It wasn't the belt, it sounds electrical, I think it has something to do with the starter. Thanks for the advice.a
PS. Any ideas about that? |

Re: G29 (THE DRIVE) whining
Battery voltage dropping when under load? When the starter/generator is stalled (low voltage, not enough torque to turn motor over) it will sometimes emit a high pitch sound.
