G2 primary clutch Rebuild
I've noticed that you can buy a rebuild kit for the primary clutch for the G2 and I was wondering how difficult it is to rebuild? I'm pretty well mechanically inclined but I have never rebuilt a CVT clutch before. Do you have to remove the clutch from the engine or can it be done just by removing the cover from the clutch? Also, my clutch has a lot of up and down play, would that be caused by the weights being worn or is there a bearing that might be worn that is causing that?

Re: G2 primary clutch Rebuild
Both, usually when the weights are shot, the bushings are shot. The g2 clutch can be repaired by removing the sliding portion, while leaving the fixed portion on the engine. It is going to be difficult to remove & replace the bushings without a press.
