Cart is Faster in Reverse than Forward
I have 2004 Ezgo electric cart that I'm redoing for my mom(new tires, wheels, rear seat, lights, cd player). It has a Plum motor and new batteries and controller installed by previous owner. It runs well in forward but it seems like it doesn't quite make the speed it should. Well other day was the first time I actually drove it in reverse and it flew everywhere, almost scary to a point. I'm new to carts but its going to be for my mom and she needs it to pull descent going up hills not flying backwards. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Cart is Faster in Reverse than Forward
Could be misaligned shifter, bad microswitch, last guy hooked up 1/2 speed wire wrong. Do u have a regen or series motor? DCS, PDS? Can find out by using this website. Lots of info but easy to use. Also what controller is being used? http://www.ddmotorsystems.com/seriesVSregen.htm

Re: Cart is Faster in Reverse than Forward
Use this chart to determine which drive system you have.
Does the controller have a make and model # on it? When you say faster in reverse - how much faster? 10% or twice as fast? |

Re: Cart is Faster in Reverse than Forward
Series PDS with a fwd rev right at your leg(you can tell its been moved from the dash). It significantly faster and it doesn't get bogged down going up hills in reverse like it does in forward. Everything looks like series.

What type/brand controller? At least give descriptive details....IE: black plastic box, black or silver aluminum box with vertical ribs, blue/white box, ect, ect.
