Zeva bms alternative
During the winter i left the bms hooked up and disconnected the main anderson connector. Cart was at 57v. Threw her on charge for the day and noticed high voltage cutoff going off. Bms shows 57.9v. Charger set to 58.2v. Meter reads pack voltage 60v. Have a few cells about .15 less. Since zeva is no longer in business think i need a new bms.

Re: Zeva bms alternative
are you sure you dont just have a cell out of balance that reached 3.65v(or 4.2v) first?

Re: Zeva bms alternative
I would check each cell and see which one is off.. you could have a loose connection on one of the cell balance leads.and how did you pack get to 60v if the charger is only 58.2? Is I. Possible the meter is off?

Re: Zeva bms alternative
Had to re adjust the charger yest back to 58.2v. For some reason if charger is set below 60v display shows not charging. Odd

Re: Zeva bms alternative
Glad you got it sorted out. Last year the battery on my MM was on it's last legs and my readings on a few things I was testing were "wonky". (Yes...it's a true technical term used in many electrical applications) :)
And FWIW when my pack gets more "out of balance" than I like, I set my ZEVA to do "Dynamic Balancing"....which is a "balance all the time mode" instead of just a top balance. It's brought my pack back into a balance I prefer. FWIW |
