Just picked up 4 new Trojan batteries..
Hello all, I'm a new member and recent proud owner of a 2008 EZGO RXV. It has after market headlights/taillights, 23" tires, Vegas aluminum rims, on a 6" lift.
I just came home from purchasing 4 new "Trojan T-1275 Plus" batteries. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of how to properly wire? I'm just being careful in case the current batteries were hooked up incorrectly, although I doubt it...just being careful. Current pic attached before I start the replacements. |

Re: Just picked up 4 new Trojan batteries..
Thanks, much appreciated. Now I just need to decide whether that article I've seen here is believable with regards to not letting batteries go below 75%. The Trojan dealer said that goes against the definition of a "deep cycle" battery.
I'm confused but certainly want to do the right thing in keeping the batteries going for a long time! $172 x 4 = they better last. |

That seems much more believable vs. 75%...then again I'm no battery expert. I need to get a gauge for my dash that shows the charge left in the batteries.

Also go to ScottyB's website and read up on his battery break-in, care and maintenance. |

Re: Just picked up 4 new Trojan batteries..
Straight from the Trojan website "1. Shallow discharges will result in a longer battery life."
That tells me that they will last longer if you only run them down to 75% SOC than 50%. Scotty B has a graph on the bottom of this page http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Batter..._Tutorial.html If I remember correctly he said this information came from Trojan. |

Re: Just picked up 4 new Trojan batteries..
75% really? kinda seems stupid to have a 48v system that you charge to 50.93 to get 100% run to 49.74 or 75% then needs a charge or damage will occur

Re: Just picked up 4 new Trojan batteries..
I wouldn't call it damage, but from what I have gathered this is why you should buy the highest amp hour batteries you can afford. This way they they stay at a higher SOC than a cheaper battery, and will last longer. I've done a lot of reading, but I am by no means an expert. Just sharing what I have read.
BTW I would not listen to everything a Trojan dealer says.... I had 2 different dealers tell me to put regular tap water in my batteries.... |
