No Spark on MCI 295 engine

I rebuilt a MCI 295 engine for a friend of mine. New rings & valves. Trying to get it running on my test stand before putting it back in cart.

I only get 1 or 2 flashes on my plug tester when I crank the engine, then no spark. I have used this test stand on many Robins engine in the past with no problems.

Things I found different between the Robins & MCI are:
MCI pulsar coil has no slots for adjustment. Gap is about .022
MCI flywheel center section is stamped with a "TANG" for triger. Robins had a slot for trigger.
MCI coil has a connector on bottom for wires from ignitor.

I tried 2 Robins style coils still just one spark at start of cranking.
Another ignitor with only one spark.
Grounded ignitor black wire directly to Neg of Battery with no change.

Test measurments
Bat voltage 12.2 cranking 11.5
Red wire to coil 11.6 cranking 10.6
white wire to coil 1.3 cranking 10.4
Pulsar coil 490 ohms .58 VAC while cranking.

ANy idea why one spark flash then nothing?

Do you have an MCI Igniter hooked to the coil?

No. Didn't know they were different. I don't have the cart here. I will need to go get it.

Yes, the MCI Igniter will have a plug in on it.
