YDRE Cut-Out
My school just purchased a used 2007 YDRE. Today it just started this weird problem. If I stomp on the pedal it will go for a sec and then cut out. If I slowly step on the pedal then the cart will get going and not cut out. I thought it could be low voltage so I cleaned and resealed all of the terminals. Voltages all look good with a total of 48 volts in the series. When it does cut out sometimes just letting off the pedal will allow you to go again, other times I have to turn the key off and sometimes I even have to flip the tow switch.

Re: YDRE Cut-Out
If you only have 48volts the batteries are dead. A fully charged pack will be around 51.5-52.0 volts.

Re: YDRE Cut-Out
You need new batteries. The cut out with tow switch reset is the dead giveaway. If you were to monitor voltages while jamming the gas, you would see it drop way below 40v, it should not be dropping that low, even briefly.

Re: YDRE Cut-Out
ok what if the batteries not charged in awhile are showing 49-volts and at hard load drop to about 42-volts but occasionally does the shut down to where you have to flip the tow/run switch to get it going again?

Re: YDRE Cut-Out
Get the batteries charged first. No point trying to diag anything when the batteries are dead.
