installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
I bought the flexible black trim mudguards for my 1986 marathon. Does anybody have a pic of how they install? I am curious which way they go.

Re: need help installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
Wow cool, where did you find them?? Are they just a universal fit thing or are they made for our buggy's?? My tires stick out a few inches and I've always wanted fender flairs
EDIT; By the looks of them it appears they hook on by the rubber trim track, Very cool!! I'd say you probably cut out the rubber trim for the area these take up, Oh man what a nice and clean install |

Hey I found these on-line, Pretty reasonable price too. About $15 apiece and they come in 26" lengths, I'm ordering up 4 of them. Thanks for posting, I've never seen these before

Re: installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
I installed these on my 89 marathon by taking the rear fender caps off, squirting a little dish soap in the track area that the body slips into and wrestled them on.

Really nice looking buggy Granger, I like how these fender flares install in the same track as the original rubber trim.

Re: installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
Ok got these mud guards/fender flares today, The quality seems pretty good and heavy duty. Sure wish they were about 6 inches longer for the rear, I'll have to pick a spot somewhere centered. I knew they'd be too long for the front so I'll have to cut them to fit, I'll post a pic when I get them installed. Good Luck to me lol

Re: installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
Thank you all who have posted and shown pictures. That helps me a ton. My only problem now is that my fender caps I ordered don't seem to fit very well. I haven't had much time to work on the cart in the last week or so, but that is my next project!

Re: installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
Did you get the fender flares on? What do you think of them and post a pic when ya can, Yeah my rear fender caps were NOT an easy install and I'm not taking them back off to install these flares. They look great and fit tight now but only after some fancy words and blood sweat and tears, Seems like the holes just don't line up exactly like they should

Re: installing mudguards on my 1986 marathon
Ok got mine on yesterday, It was NOT as easy as I thought. The part that clips on the track is about an 1/8" shorter then the original little rubber trim, And it's tougher rubber. I got it on there but wow, I can't feel my thumbs today LOL
