Default 2001 TXT Identify Part

I am trying to figure out what this part is on my TXT. The attached picture is one I found on the web. On my cart this metal pipe seems to have broken and is only being held together by a wire that is inside of it. I was informed that it should be one solid piece and that is why I am not getting full speed on my cart. Thanks for your time and help.

I think I identified the part. Still not sure if it should be a continuous piece or not.

It is 2 pieces, connected by a metal wire/cable. The cable is right in the middle, and usually covered by a piece of rubber hose to help "stiffen" it up.

One I had was adjusted too tight (short) and causing the motor to surge.
I adjusted it longer with a little droop and it corrected the problem.. just saying.
