Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
Ww pulled the cover, adjusted valves, and then closed it back up and tested compression, was getting around 150-155 PSI on BOTH Cylinders.
we regapped the plugs and installed them and tried to test fire. no luck checked fuel lines, then cleaned up the fuel pump screen and finally got some fuel pumping through. can someone validate that this is the correct carb, not an aftermarket one ?!? (picts attached) cart would ONLY start and run with the choke applied almost all the way ?!? also noticed fuel was coming out the two ports on occasion from the carb. the two ports one to the left and one to the right of the fuel line in ?!? should something be attached to theses or what |

Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
he got a new airbox and filter, so we installed and put that on.
cart is hard to start without choke applied, it was 70 degrees and nice out all day today when we were working on it. and when you run it you have to have the choke partially applied to run smooth or it boggs out and just barely runs, with it floored !! |

Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
The two "nipples" are over flows usually there is a short hose connected to them to direct fuel down if it's coming out of there is likely a sticky float 150 psi is good if it's needing choke with good spark and good compression it's likely a carb issue witch appears to be OEM carb pull it off and give it a good cleaning pull all the Jets out make sure they are clear and blow air through all the passages to check float blow air in the fuel inlet and raise the float air flow should stop when float is level

Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
All good advice here from spicyunicorn. It definitely sounds like a blocked and overflowing carb is your problem.

Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
Aftermarket Chinese carbs can be great, can be junk.
I would try your best to disassemble and clean that factory carb. |

Re: EZGO TXT Low Compression on one Cylinder
Almost everything needs a carb isolator of some sort to lower carb temps. It may be obvious by how much of the studs stick out into the airbox. Studs are usually just long enough to stick through the nut by a couple threads.
