2015 Yamaha YDRE Solenoid Issue/Replacement
Hi All, new to posting here but always following and appreciate the info.
So I purchased an Alltrex XCT -48500 controller for my 2015 Yamaha G29. No issues at all with the controller, but the tech who I bought the controller from said I need to install a high amp solenoid and upgrade the wiring. I can understand that so I did, I bought the SW180 solenoid. While checking the wiring on the existing solenoid to see what the wires were which, I noticed there is not a ground wire and the solenoid is always "on". Looking for recommendations as to how to proceed. TIA! |

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDRE Solenoid Issue/Replacement
Is it causing problems, because if it's not you shouldn't worry about it, the solenoid should have full 48v B+ any the tow/run switch is in run. B- is provided by the controller to activate the solenoid.

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDRE Solenoid Issue/Replacement
Appreciate the help. It's not causing any issues that I know of, all of the wires going to it are just always hot whether the switches are on or off. I was going to change the solenoid to the 400A before I install the new motor. Do you recommend I leave the stock solenoid with the new controller and new motor? TIA!!!!

I would not leave the stock solenoid, it is not the big beefy one they used to come with.

Well that leads me to my next question. Anyone happen to know how to wire/install the SW180 universal HD solenoid in a 2015 Yamaha YDRE G29? A wiring diagram would be AMAZING! Lol. Thanks again for the info, this has been driving me crazy.

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDRE Solenoid Issue/Replacement
Does your solenoid already have a diode on the small terminals on the side?

I do not believe it matters what cart you put the alltrax xct controllers into, in regards to both diodes being needed. However, maybe one of the more knowledgeable folks on here can verify that? I pose that question, because I only see the "sticky" in the Electric Club Car forum threads. |
