Question somebody has to know?

glad I found you guys.
We have a 93 gas cc bone stock very low hrs for its age.,great shape.

I put a new belt on. the old factory original one was getting skinny, and was running a bit higher rpms.
so I bought the correct new belt and what a differance.

Now,20 hrs of use on hilly roads, it has slowed down and belt slips on steep hills. all components are good and func.correctly in maint.mode.
and im guessing the belt is now run in/seasoned.

Im sure I need to align the engine/trans to the correct specs.
Im aware that this is a critical setting to maximize performence.

Here is the big question.
WHAT IS THE CORRECT DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER OF EACH SHAFT?
I know B.U has a tool for 9.00 and want one, but I dont have one in my hand.

does anyone have one? and can anyone please tell me the distance between the center of the round hole and the center of the slot?

or feel free to offer any suggestions. thank you

Pay for a good one from Club Car. Don't get that piece of crap from BU. I don't know right off the top of my head, but the belt should be fairly tight.

YEA, Im pretty P.U ed out. Im sure they mean well, but your not aloud to tell anyone about a good deal on anything(if it dont make them $$),or the tons of dead end,(no solution) threads.I dont want to thrash anymore on it.

Lets just say that I was glad to find you guys, and Im sure that there is a gold mine of good info and good members to make our cart addiction even better.

You could tell I coppied there drawing.heehee.

Ill try to tighten it up and experiment till I get a tool, but im thinking it needs some slack. probably just enough to keep it barely touching the bushing on the primary? and they naturally go kind of wide on there way back to the driven clutch right?
what do you think? thnx

It shouldn't be tight against the idler, but it should touch it enough to turn it when you drift the cart in gear.

I'm not sure what you're asking on the second part, though. Could you elaborate a bit? Thanks.

I was refering to the slack and how there is round ness to the drive belt(unlike a tight fan belt.) would you be more like (A) or more like (B) in my diagram. mine looks like (A) way to sloppy. im scared to go to tight and restrict shifting.. any input is appreciated.thnx

There isn't that much play in the engine bolts/slots. Slide it forward as far as it will go. Just be sure to get the two clutches squared back up. Binding of the belt robs more power than you can shake a stick at.
