what battery to buy for gas 1988 EZGO

Need to know where to buy a battery that fits the space on 1988 gas EZGO?
The one that is in there is to long and and pushes on air cleaner . I measured the opening to fit a 8 &1/2 long by 7 inch wide by 9 inch deep. Where do I find one close to that with good power. Or what is everybody using??

Seems like I run a 'Group 24' in my 85 that fits fine, I'm thinking an 88 would be the same dimensions. Here's a link I found to battery sizes https://www.batteryequivalents.com/b...ize-chart.html

Just looked at mine and I'm not quite right, According to the chart it IS in the 'Group 24' series but the part# is 25-3N by Everstart which is a Walmart brand. Dimensions are
9.10" L x 6.90" W x 8.90" H, 550 CCA

Group size 26 fits. many are available with the stand up / thru bolt type terminals that EZGO used stock.

I see the 26's could even be a better choice yet for the OP, dimensions are 8 3/16" L x 6 13/16"W x 7 3/4" H
