Default 1988 ezgo marathon golf cart muffler

Hey ya'll, so I broke my muffler in my 1988 ezgo marathon gas golf cart. I can only find mufflers fo years up to 1987. Where the engine that different from 1987 to 88? Looks like the 1987 muffler would fit?

The muffler should fit, but it is not the same. The muffle is matched to the carb which is larger on the 88's.

Both are upright mufflers. The 87, and older has the inlet on the side. The 88 is the only one that has the inlet at the top of the can. That means the pipe between the engine, and the muffler is different.

New ones are always out of stock. You can pretty much say that they don't exist. Your best bet is to fix yours, or find a donor cart. You could also change the muffler and pipe to the older style. You will lose two horsepower.

I've found 2 sites that have them for like $300-$400..... so I'm gonna just find a welder and have them fix it so I can put it back on haha
