Gas leak
88 2pg China carb. Leaking gas from where my finger is. Old carb had that open too? Never noticed. Is it missing a block off ball?

I'm not sure, as your carb looks different than mine, but my carb was recently leaking out of a vent hole and it was because there was junk in the bowl keeping the float from working correctly
