What speed can i expect?
I have a pds cart 5 inch lift kit,23 inch tires, alltrax 500amp controller and a lightning motor it does 24mph with turbo off does this sound about what it should be at and will it hurt to put the turbo on.

Re: What speed can i expect?
I'm not sure what your speed should be, but I have the alltrax 400, stock motor and 22" tires and I'm doing 29. My turbo is on and I upgraded to 48 volts.

Re: What speed can i expect?
leave the turbo off as you really don't need it and the lift makes it more harmful than good. 24mph is decent running 36 volts though. If you go to 48 volts, you should see 29-30 mph.

Re: What speed can i expect?
RR, explain that turbo statement, please. How does the turbo hurt? Just need to know why it might be better for me to turn mine off. It came that way from the dealer.
Thanks, in advance. |

Re: What speed can i expect?
I have been given to understand that the "turbo" on the Alltrax controller reduces low end torque by reducing amerage in echange for voltage to acheive greater speed. On a lifted cart, you need more low end torque so if you are reducing the amperage and increasing the voltage, you are overworking the motor to get the cart moving. High voltage with low amperage would cause burning of the brushes as well.
I could be wrong, but this is how it was explained to me quite a few years ago...... |

Re: What speed can i expect?
Turbo on will give you all the amps the batteries can put out the instant the pedal is put to the floor.
I can leave rubber with the turbo on. With the turbo off it is just quick. btw, this is on a CC with a PQ motor and Altrax controller. |
