Oil pumps fail open but you do have to monitor the system, like filters and oil usage and of course proper settings and ratio at the pump.
Many guys like no injection but for me I like not having to mix gas and oil. I set my ratio at the pump linkage for a bit heavier ratio of oil just to be good to the engine. If you dismantle the oil pump or remove lines, make sure you have followed the manual on bleeding the pump and lines before running the engine. I have used oil injection for years in so many types of 2 cycle engines I have lost count and never had a failor of a pump. I have had stupid people play with carb settings and dry up an engine but never a failor at a pump or line. Just giving you another thought on injection and not to scorn those who mix. |
