That about sums it up. The best cart out there IMO. Other carts have an advantage in specific areas, like ezgo are nice to modify a lot as more parts are available....if you plan to do that. Far as reliability and driving feel, etc, yamaha has it.

I put a 420 clone in my G9 last summer, the stock engine was burning oil and tired. I bought it in '99 and lifted it with 22s. Other than minimal things I ran it year after year until the last couple years it would lose power when hot. I rode trails up to 6 hours a day on weekends. In '99 I took the governor off also, it would gps 30 on pavement and 28 on dirt roads a few years back when I got a hand held gps. Gas? Wow would it go a long time on a tank, maybe a month riding trails every weekend. I am sure the clone will take more lol.

I got the fever for the gas carts now. I seen some pics of hitches on the back pulling a jet skii around. Now I read that I can almost go 4 wheeling in these carts, just won't no how to act. My 1991 electric cart would barely go up a small incline on grass. WOW!!!! I really got the fever.

Boy you can tell this was posted in a Yamaha thread I currently own 2 gas EZ-Go Workhorses with the 350 motor and they do OK. I live in EZ-Go and Club Car's back yard so they are plentiful. I have seen a few Yamis but not many so can't speak for them but the folks before me sure have

Yamaha, I like the simplicity! Go look at front suspension of all 3! Rear too for that matter.

I'll make this a huge paragraph and maybe some will not bother to wade through detail, but if you really want to know my .02 I will say the following. I have little against other carts (I know people with all three and have worked on and driven them), for me CC has that goofy 1" belt and backwards engines on newer ones plus the frame is alum so I can't weld to it. The front suspension is kind of strange as well. Ones I have driven feel larger than the yamaha, that would be good if I was 400lbs or something but I'm not. They do ride very nice, seem reliable and all that, and so make a nice stock cart. Some parts are more expensive. The Ezgo is usually a good deal but also has its points. There is a ton of aftermarket stuff for them so you can build about any kind of cart. The beam front axle is easy to lift but not a very good suspension. Ezgo seem to be a slightly cheaper or simpler cart overall but nothing negative that really affects it that much over another cart. IMO the body is one of the best looking. The yamaha to me has better seating and steering and handling than the others. The G1 is a little smaller feel but the all time fastest stock cart that I know of, but stinky 2 stroke and noisy....and last forever. The G2/9 and newer are nice carts. The steering box on a yamaha is not as nice as a rack, not nice for large lifts. Older yamaha are known for wiring problems but easy to fix. There is not quite as much room for big block engines as in other carts but they do fit. In the end I like how the ergonomics are for yamaha and that is important to me (because I trail ride), a lot of carts feel more like a park bench to me. All that said there is not a huge difference in the three carts, most people buy what is available to them because of that. Those particular points can sway a person to get X or Y cart, the perfect example being get an ezgo if you want to build the snot out of it with bolt on parts. I thought about getting a carryall2 CC it would have been a nice build, but so much needed done to it and I can't weld on it. The CC can often fit huge tires with a big lift which is great, but other points made me pass. There are a ton of CCs on this site though so again depends on what you want to do with the cart and availability. I rather a yamaha and would go look at an ezgo, but I love my welder lol and not going to buy the stuff to do alum with it. I'm also not covering the newest models here or the oldest like the ezgo 2 stroke, which was junk compared to the G1. You can look at lift/parts prices of the carts, check the BB install threads, etc, and see how the mods you might do worked out for others. Take a ride on them and see what one you like to drive better. I would say get a newer cart if you can just because everything will have less wear, but it depends on your budget of course. My primary concerns are driving feel and ability to install a larger engine or suspension and I can weld on the frame to accomplish the above, and that is not going to be the same for others.

Lol, well others views may be different because they have different use or plans for their cart. The yami seems to be more sporty too, using that term pretty loosely. And you can copy any part of that long as you don't give proper credit lol!

So all that said what model # is the newest of the yamaha's? Have they started using any type of emission crap on any of the new one's? What year of cart is the best?
