You'll have to give us some history on this, not enough info here to diagnose. What have you tried to fix? What have you checked?

I too had a problem with my g1 not reving up. It would sit and idle fine and move a little. I finally found the problem to be the exhaust plugged! Just remove the exhaust from the manifold and try it up a hill to see if thats the issue. Its a quick and easy test.

I would not drive any cart without an exhaust on it, could result in damage.

These g1 carts have a baffle in the exhaust so i would think there would still be some back preasure. I had no problem with my cart. Im not saying to drive it for a long time.

And slonomo how else would u check to see if the exhaust was the issue???

Sorry wrong description! The baffle is actually in the exhaust manifold so it stays when u remove the exhaust!

there's no baffle in the manifold, what you are looking at is a butterfly valve that opens and closes based on throttle position. Some say it's to help control exhaust pressure for "golf cart" use, more of a de-tuning device. If you run the cart without the exhaust it will run worse.

If the cart runs well but has no power, I'd look into a carb issue, air filter, spark plug, that type of thing first. Make sure you have a new fuel filter and check the flow of the fuel coming to the carb, sometimes the fuel pumps plug up.

Also, a worn belt can cause low power, it the belt old or new?

I took the exhaust bolts out the cylinder and pulled it apart a little, was easy to test quick and see if it ran better. That one had a plugged tailpipe I shoved something up it and then it ran ok, but lot of hours on it didn't have that much power....or exhaust was still full of junk.

Also, make sure your clutches are shifting down properly. Getting into a lower gear when needed is important for good performance. I had similar issues and couldn't believe the difference proper clutching made!! - RAY
