Default club car clutch bolt

i'm putting my cart back together, and i need to know the length of the club car driving clutch bolt. i would measure mine but it sheared off in the original motor......which is long gone. my cart is a '97, if that matters. this the final piece need to get my cart with the jackshaft and clone swap going again.

would a stock one be the same as your clone?

also, i have checked length before by using a pc of all thread and marking it when threaded in. then removing and taking a measurement.

The stock Club Car/Kawasaki drive clutch bolt is 3/8-24 x 5 1/2" long with reverse threads.

I can't guarantee that it would be the same for your clone!

the stock one for my '97 would have a different thread for a clockwise motor, and the one i had didn't survive clutch removal. the thread my jackshaft has is fine, most allthread that i come across is coarse. early this morning i had an idea: i'm going to try sliding a piece of solid 12 gage wire through clutch till it bottoms out in shaft, mark and measure it.. then go buy myself a bolt.

thanks guys, that's a good starting place. might even be on the road today depending on how long my wife's list has gotten for spring break. this early spring in indiana is really messing me up. the lawn is getting tall, my wife has already collared me about hiding in the garage and yard with all the 'spring clean-up' needed. and it's spring break for the kids.

if that length is correct i would imagine a stanard thread bolt would work for a clone and a pre silly a$$ reverse rotation club car motor.

good luck!

CCW rotation use R/H thread, CW rotation use L/H threads. (self locking). I was impatient with my clone build and used a 12 TPI bolt drilled 1 1/2 " into the crank and red threadlock compound. No issues whatsoever.
