need custom g1 muffler help
I am building a old six flags custom golf cart body on a g1 one I have done all kinds of changes to. But I have about everything done except figuring out what to do for the exhaust. I need some muffler ideas to see what I can make fit. Have not found many places to look at muffler options assume not searching right spot yet.

Re: need custom g1 muffler help
Remember, 2 cycle's use the muffler design to aid with lack of torque (internal baffling). Probably best to use the stock muffler but cut and minipulate the exhaust tubing from the engine to the original muffler new location.

Re: need custom g1 muffler help
How much ground clearnce do you have under the engine? Can you fit the muffler sideway's between the engine and above the transaxle?

Re: need custom g1 muffler help
You can see I don't have any room under motor or under frame anywhere. I also don't have enough room above trans axle do to the body is right there. I just not sure what to try. I just wish the muffler was about 10" shorter I may be able to squeeze it in.

Re: need custom g1 muffler help
OK, cut the muffler end cap off (on the non exit side), then cut the middle section off 10", then reweld the end cap on. You will lose some bottom end, but if you can make it fit, cool. Before cutting, might want to put the muffler into a burn barrel or fire pit and burn all that old oil/carbon out of it.

Re: need custom g1 muffler help
My buddy welded his up with a dirtbike expansion chamber (quite a bit smaller than stock muffler). It was louder & required rejetting, but it ran good. He also had a whole lot of clutch spring to keep the rpms up.
