Re: Noises fixed! Thanks cgtech!
Mine looked exactly like the one in the picture! Smashed and wore out.
My splines also looked a little worn and rusty like cgtech mentioned... If my noise comes back I will have to do the input shaft and motor coupler. Hope not though. I purchased mine from a local Yamaha dealer for $2.68 You can get them online from a few places. With shipping your probably looking at about 15$ but that is minimal if it eliminates that noise. Good luck! |

How were you able to pull the bushing out? I have a ton of carbon dust in my motor, can you use brake cleaner to clean the motor out also?

Use a pick to peel the bushing out. Dont use any chemicals to clean the motor, compessed air only. And stay up wind, that carbon cloud that's gonna come out will be horrible to breathe.

I just used a small pick. My noise is coming back now. Going to have to bite the bullet and get a new input shaft or coupler. Or both

Re: Noises fixed! Thanks cgtech!
I always figured the motor coupler would be easier and cheaper to replace. But there about the same money. Replacing the input shaft would take 2 hours. Replacing the motor coupler would have the cart down for probably a week or more
