xrt no saprk when hot

I am working om a CC xrt 1200se . It runs great for a while until it gets hot. Let it cool off and it runs again. I am thinking coil or ignitor or both. I have searched but I can not find anything specific.

Just unhook or cut the grounding wire [beige] on the rev limiter. I bet your problem goes away.

I guess I need a new rev limiter ????

Well , rode it again and it did it again. Last time I rode several miles and it did not die.

So what is the downside/upside of running without rev limitor connected/grounded ?

Upside = not spending $ on a new limiter
Downside = Mess with the governor and... BOOM!

Being that the XRT 1200SE's didn't come out until the mid 2000's,
I'm guessing yes!
