Yep that's my baby that never lied to me about a battery before!

At work we have had several midtronics brand testers (the digital kind) they were allright most of the time but have seen them giving false results.
Now they have this Argus brand tester and that thing is out of control!
It will fail every new (car/truck)battery on the shelf at the parts department but you test a battery that is not capable of cranking a car and it will say "continue to use" or "charge and retest" but you can't tell the stupid thing that IT IS CHARGED!
Again this is just my opinion about them.

I remember these testers from high school

Those work great! You can also use them to warm your hands on a cold day!

And it is still the best IMHO!
In todays corporate business world that is not a tester because it can not print the customer's battery's result saying "REPLACE NOW" (like the argus does). Which seems to me like it was designed to increase battery sales but I could be wrong...

Hi All

Checked the batteries today. Readings are after 2.5 mile drive and 9 holes. First reading is at rest, second is under load:
Battery #

1 - 12.36 and 10.3
2 - 12.33 and 3.4
3 - 12.37 and 11.6
4 - 12.33 and 7.5

Think I found the problem! Let the LTH jokes begin. Does battery number 4 need to be replaced or is that pretty typical?

Thanks
S

Wow sorry to see that man! This actually indicates very well how the "at rest" voltages will not tell you about the battery's condition.

I would not call 7.5V typical for batt.#4.
And even your best battery #3 will sag a lot further down if it had stronger batteries in series with it. Allowing for more of an amp draw overall!

I hope you have some warranty on them!
Could you please give me an estimate in miles for 9 holes? I actually don't know anything about a golf course : )

For the future I recommend a voltmeter for you to monitor your batteries while the cart is in use to avoid costly battery damage.

LTH replaced one battery already. I hope they honor the other 2!
9 holes is approximately 3500 to 3700 yards.

Thanks and cheers

Defiantly an issue with #2,4 and wonder if this is dragging down #1,3?
