Had this problem with mine , Come to find out the coil was getting Hot & it was not firing right , May not be your Fix but it was Mine.

had a similiar problem, the jetting was to lean, overheated cylinders on heavy throttle and would not run right until cooled down. check your plug color,if they are real clean,then its to lean, they should have a tanish brown color.

I fixed mine. I pulled the carb off an gave it a good cleaning. Runs like a champ now. I Don't think the carb had ever been pulled.
