Default 93 ezgo marathon no go

I have 93 ezgo marathon that does not go. Kids rode through water hole a few times and it stopped. Batteries are Fully charged 38.8 Volts. Has 38.8 volts to solenoid, It clicks and has 38.8 Volts. All 3 terminals on controller has 38.8 Volts, 1 terminal is ground [Neg]. Checked pot box black & white wires meter goes to 0 at no speed and only 4 ohms when pedal is pressed. Would the pot box need replacing. Thanks for any help.

Pot is most definately out of adjustment as it should range from 0-5500 ohms however it should still send signal to controller since you are showing a range.

Before you go looking at an expensive controller, you should resolve the Pot problem first. You can't get a true testing of the controller if you have problems leading up to the controller.......

Checked pot box .4 ohms no pedal, press pedal a little an meter jumps to 10 ohms keep pressing and it increases to 7000 ohms. How do you adjust pot box or is it bad. Also there isn' t a 250 ohm resistor on the solenoid, nor is there a diode. Should cart be ran without them. What size diode goes on solenoid. Cart was running fine until kids ran it through a mud puddle a few times. It quit an hasn't ran since. Batteries are full charged, cables are clean and tight. Solenoid clicks and has correct voltage.

Need help before I buy parts. Thanks for any help
