Hi guys just wondering i have 16mm2 cable will that work in re-wiring my 96 TXT 36v golf cart or is it too small?

Is this cable you have a high strand count, and is it welding cable?

Um yes its a high strand count and no not welding cable its power cable used in communication exchanges for 48 volt systems

Needs to be flexible. Doesn't have to be limp, but needs to give a little easily.
There is going to be some vibration and slight movements, so anything too stiff will stress battery terminals and other connection points.

Be sure to use closed ended terminal lugs and use heat-shrink tubing to make the gap between the lug and the cable's insulation air tight.
I prefer silver soldered lugs, but I'm old school and OCD.

If you are going to upgrade your cable size, upgrade all the high current cables to the same size. Battery interconnects, Battery to Solenoid/Controller and Controller to Motor (Plus F/R Switch cables if you have one).

Remember, the ampacity of your entire high current system is limited by the cable or connector with the least current carrying ability.

...also, the cable insulation must be rated for an acidic environment.
