Charging question?

I had taken the connecting leads off of the 2 batterys so i was just charging 2 in series with 12 volt charger yesterday, do i have to disconnect the leads from the chain? or will the 12volt charger just charge the pos and neg from just the 2 batteries? even though there all still hooked together. im going to see about borrowing another charger and test it out ill keep ya posted.

Charge asap!!! Before you worry about your charger you need to get those batteries out of the sulfating stage they are in like John said!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't need to disconnect anything, Just hook up the 12V charger to the 2 batteries you are going to charge ( + to - ) just as you would in a vehicle. Always make your battery connections before you plug in an automotive charger!

Charging in this way will take possibly 36 hours total!!! Alternate each set of batteries you charge each couple of hours. This way you will be keeping all the batteries from sulphating worse than they are.

Could be why 2 batteries read 6.0V and the rest 5.84V.

You don't have to disconnect the battery cables to charge them in pairs.
Just clip the 12V charger Neg. lead to the Neg. of the first battery and the Pos. lead to the Pos. terminal of the second battery.
Charge for a few hours and move charger leads to batteries 3 & 4. then 5&6.

If you can lay your hands on three 12V chargers all there pairs of 6V batteries can be charged simultaneously without disconnect the cables.
(It's called parallel charging - there are some battery back-up systems that are charged this way.)

I'm not sure if the 28115-GO4 is a PowerWise or a PowerWise II, but they both work the same. No over-current cutoff other than a fuse.

Your charger probably needs a new control board, but those batteries are mighty low. Best get the charged and try it again. or try a different 36V charger on them. If a different charger works, your charger is bad.

If you haven't already, download the Operator's Manual, Service Manual and Parts Manual for the bottom STICKY: at the top of this forum.
The Service manual includes troubleshooting the charger.
Also, attached is a service manual for a Lester 19300 charger which has some good troubleshooting info in it. (Lester made Powerwise for EZGO)

Update: so i found 3 12 volt chargers and cherged all day and night they all said charge complete, i tested each battery by it self and got 6.4 across the board, but when i did it as a pak it came up 29.5. so i took it for a short spin def felt faster and alot more power, after i cam back the individule battery were 6.2 each and the group was 25.9. than i addeed my 36 volt charger to the mix it still said 29.9 as a pak after leaving it on about 10 min it did the same on off stuff as before, i unplugged it from recp, and plugged it back in and it stayed on until i left , when i returned it was at 0 but pak was still 29.0... and charger wouldnt turn on when i plug in charging chord on cart...any ideas?

Something is seriously wrong with either your cables or measuring technique.
Six time 6.4 is 38.4, but you only measured 29.5 from BL+ to BL-.
You are either not actually measuring across the entire battery pack, or have some of the worst interconnecting cables in existence.

Here is a diagram of the batteries in your cart. Attach your DVM's Negative test lead to BL- and leave it there. Attach your DVM's Positive lead to the "+" of the same battery. Record reading. Move Positive lead to "+" terminal of next battery and record reading. Continue working around the series of batteries in a clockwise direction until you reach the BL+ terminal.

The reading should increment at 6.4V

If each step does not increment by 6.4 (or whatever the individual battery's voltage is) the interconnecting cable is bad. (Or battery is bad, but we already got 6.4V across it???)

Your 36V charger might also be bad, but get the cables sorted out first.
