Re: removing rack ball joint on txt
When i run my finger in the housing there is some sort of metal piece that rotates but i cannot get it to line up with the rest of the things...im not sure wether this is whats hanging it up or not...and dont want to put to much force on things until i know its going correctly to keep from screwing up the rack or gear

Re: removing rack ball joint on txt
You need to remove this diamond shaped plate. Under it there will be a compression spring and a large brass bushing. Together they apply force to the rack keeping it against the pinion gear nice and tight. Without removing them you cannot slide the rack into the housing. |

Re: removing rack ball joint on txt
What kind of lift? Mid rise, 4", 6", 8" or 10"?
Drop spindle, long travel??? What kind of tires? Mud, street, or all-terrain? 22", 23", 24", 25", 26", 27" or 28"?? I am just filling your head with thoughts. |

Re: removing rack ball joint on txt
Thinking 6" spindle and 22" or 23" mud or all terrain...going to use it for a hunting buggy...the 6" lift..would it clear the 23" tires with no rubbing?

Re: removing rack ball joint on txt
I would go with 23" tires. Rubbing should not be an issue, but on my club car I am running 24" mudders with no chance of rubbing, but I know that's to totally different carts.
