Sell or keep
Just purchased a 98 DS in really rough shape. I've stripped it down, replaced all spring bushings, bronze "king pin" bushings, repacked the wheel bearings and replaced the rear brake shoes and springs. My question is do I leave it stock and sell it or lift it with a 6" and 12in wheels? It will be used 2-3 weekends a month from April-sept at Lake Gaston. Will I be happy with this model cart being lifted or should I sell it and get a gas cart?

Re: Sell or keep
guess the real question is How old are the batteries. You figure new batteries will run you about 1000.00.

keep it , even if you need batteries decent new batteries will cost about 750. you can do so much with a DS plenty of parts available

Re: Sell or keep
Just use it for a season (or a little while) and if you want to lift it after that, do it. Only takes some planning and a day (weekend) to lift it. DS is easy to modify...lots of options.

Re: Sell or keep
Sell if its a 36 volt (unless you want to spend more money on upgrading that- still worth it but not cheap) or if its a 48 volt, keep it!

Re: Sell or keep
Thanks for the replies. It is a 48volt regen cart. I've heard that there were some problems with the 98-99 regen carts (before they came out with the IQ). Any truth to that? The batteries are L9 and one A10. I assume that means that they are Dec 2009 & January 2010? They seem to be ok, but I'm researching the best way to check them out. Anybody have a link handy?
