Use a SPDT switch wired as follows:
Center (common) pin goes to the limit switch where the white wire was connected.
Side-1 of the switch goes to the white wire in harness.
Side-2 goes to the limit switch where the resistor/black wire is plugged.
You would then have:
Position-1: Normal Use
Position-2: Always half-speed.
Fancier setup using a SPDT with center-Off switch:
Center (common) pin goes to the limit switch where the white wire was connected.
Side-1 of the switch goes to the white wire in harness.
Side-2 goes to the limit switch where the resistor/black wire is plugged.
Put a 1/4watt 5100ohm resistor between Center and Side-1 of the switch.
You would then have:
Position-1: Normal Use
Center-OFF: 3/4 speed in fwd, 1/2 in reverse
Position-2: Always half-speed.

On early carts the half speed reverse option was utilized by accessing only half of the battery pack. Extended operation on half of the battery pack will cause a pack imbalance which will be a major problem during recharge. Such continued unbalanced recharging will lead to an early death of the battery pack.

Later carts used electronic speed control where half speed reverse was a result of reducing the throttle input. It's okay to run half speed reverse on these carts.

So this setup actually will work on my cart? And exactly where do I hook the switch into? Maybe with some pics if possibly.

Thanks James

Somehow I deleted the first line on my last post, it should have said the half-speed limit switch in the FNR.
It should work if your DS uses a resistor in series with the throttle control to reduce speed.
It is the micro-switch #3 in the attached diagram (MCOR), but the multi-step resistor vglide and pot box circuits work the same way as far as reverse half-speed is concerned.

I tried this today and it works like you said. I'm running half speed so this setup worked perfect.. Thanks!

OK I installed the new 48v PQ bandit on my cart and now Im up to 16mph from 11. My battery pack is prob around 90% or lil more. readings are 50.3 after I let it sit overnight and voltages drops around 46.3 on full load. Gonna check my brakes tomorrow but doesn't sound like their dragging. Im running stock tires and wheels so what psi should I run those at? I have a stock controller but ran 2 gauge wire to everything and HD FR switch. Should these be correct speeds for my setup?? Sorry if I'm leaving any detail out

These were my readings on my vglide
At rest - 0.3
Stop 1 - 933
Stop 2 - 1718
Stop 3 - 2655
Stop 4 - 3709
Stop 5 - 4747
Stop 6 - 5856

These are about 200ohms off from what I've read. Was wondering if this would cause my speed from not reaching top speed?
