Rear diff on a 2010 precedent.
Is the rear diff a sealed unit on my 2010 or can the fluid be changed out? And if so how often does this need to be done.?

. . . looking from driver's side, there should be two plugs on the lower left side of housing, one above the other (sort of) . . . the lower plug is a magnetized drain plug and the upper is the fill plug . . . both are 14m-1.5x12mm hex . . .

You are suppose to change the oil once a year I think. but check the owners manual just in case I'm wrong.

Re: Rear diff on a 2010 precedent.
I fail to see the need to change the rear end lube on these low speed carts. I had a truck with 280k on it without changing rear end lube. In fact the only time I have ever changed rear end lube is after driving through water that was deep enough to submerge it. I suspect a golf cart with 5k miles would be rare. That is just my thinking. There is a slight chance I could be wrong.

Rear end fluid gets changed on every cart that comes through my place. I've seen some questionable liquids come out. I would do it once a year if used regularly. Its also good to check for any metal shavings/chunks |

What diff fluid should be used? I grease the front end all the time.

Re: Rear diff on a 2010 precedent.
I think it calls for 70wt motor oil. But there has been some discussion in the forum about using gear oil. Which seems to make a little sense. When it comes time for my next change I'm going to do a little research and decide for myself
