Default Yamaha G1 not getting gas

My yamaha G1 Is acting like its not getting gas. It will just sit there and run. Dump lil fuel in the carb . It will take off and go. So started by cleaning carb and changing fuel filter. Did a couple of laps around the yard and It died again . Had to keep dumping gas in carb to get it back to the garage. Would this be a fuel pump problem ?

It could be fuel pump or lack of prime ie the pump not picking up fuel from the tank. Check the strainer, hoses, pressurize the tank or suck on the fuel hose while cranking until you get fuel then hook back up to the carb. I thought I needed a fuel pump on mine but didn't.

Its possible your crank seals are leaking which would cause your fuel pump to not operate correctly.

A strong possibility.
