Default Random No Start

So I drove the cart around 5 miles to the gas station yesterday and came to a full stop with engine not turning a few times along the way at stop signs and whatnot

Fueled up and went to head out and there was no power going to the starter generator

I heard the click in the pedal kept doing that and also turned the key off and on a few times

After about 20 seconds of messing with it the cart fired right up like nothing ever happened and ran fine the other 10 miles that I drove

any ideas only thing I did was turn the key off and take it with me when I went inside to pay so thinking it may be a key issue

Could be a dead spot in the starter, But to eliminate the possibility of it being the ignition switch I'd bypass it with a jumper wire and see if it happens again

Check the S/G brushes. May be worn.

Next time it happens, turn the primary clutch by hand a half turn or so and try. IF it's dead spot in the starter or worn brushes, it will usually fire off fine after the S/G turns a little bit off that bad spot.

Sounds good guys I think I’m going to put a new ignition switch in anyways cause I want to run the lights off the ignition switch anyhow but I will try to turn the S/G if it does it again

It’s a new S/G but a aftermarket one I haven’t had time to drop my oem one off to the starter shop to get some new bearings and brushes installed. This might get it there sooner than later
